cake frenzy

Hi All!

Last friday was WESAK DAY which translates as a public holiday for us who are not celebrating. we Malaysians LOVESSSS public holidays dont we? *grins*
Public holidays + weekends + school holidays = many engagement and wedding invitations!
For the next 2 weeks, ive received several invitations. However, i wont be able to fulfill all invitations as some are redundant and due to my tight schedule.

For the past 3 days, i've been baking and decorating like CRAZEEE..... but IM LOVING IT....
yesss people, im that crazy..hahhaha.
all cakes were fondant decorated which means at least 2 hours of sitting down and making the details for each set. im talking about MINIMUM HOURS people....

Lets have a look on my creations dis weekend :D

22 pieces of fondant covered cupcakes with 2 figurines and rings and flowers with grey and green theme...i am so happy with the outcome. my staying up late to finish this cake is so worth it!
unfortunately, as soon as it reached the satisfied customer, her friend/cousin/sister who was carrying the cake box, DROPPED the box!
my heart DROPPED! literally. luckily most cupcakes survived the disaster. *pheww*

This order was fun. I was supposed to create Ben 10, but my Ben 10 looked like a Ben 20!! but the customer was highly satisfied as she giggled when she saw my replica of Ben 10. happy me :)

This again is also for an engagement ceremony of an old friend. 16 piece of cupcakes decorated with red and white fondant and gumpaste. the butterfly was a bit of a dissappointment as it wasnt dry enuf to hold its shape. but everyone was happy with the outcome. again, happy me! :)
Making these cuppies this weekend makes me realize that i amactually improving my techniques. ive so in LOVE with sugarcrafting now :D
till next post people.... XOXO

black bottom cupcake

black bottom cupcakes are one of my fave cakes.
creamy cheese fillings in moist chocolate cakes.
ive been baking this recipe since i was like 16?
since my household arent great consumer of such cakes, i seldom bake these.
but recently bake some for a customer and the leftovers brought them to Lumut for hubby.
AND he went crazy for them... hhehe... guess, i meet my match.. *thehehhehe*

YYAAAYYY!!!!!!!

had migraine this morning , maybe due to furiously baking cuppies over the weejend and ENDLESS beading for a friend's engagement baju.

BUT

am so happy rite now... my dearly, beloved HUBBY had offered to pay for any cake courses that i intend to join... YYIIPPIIEEE YAAAYYY!!!!!!!
am looking forward to WILTON 1, 2, 3 classes. had the intention to attend the class in Wah Seng, Ipoh (huh! y so suddenly far away in ipoh wan? u ask... welll..... hubby is in Lumut which is 45 mins from Ipoh. so its to save face if i take the class he paid for somewhere near to him. and yes mate, i travel to and fro between LUMUT-KUCHING every month. tiring i tell u!)

anyway, was browsing thru, flipping thru and suddenly i saw they held WILTON 1,2,3 within 3 days in ICCA! YAYYYY!!!! near ikea *sheepish*
now im salivating over this course. hope i can get a suitable date and hubby in a good mood. hahahha

p/s: got lots of cuppies pics to upload but will do it later. my office + beading works are giving me migraines (oohh... told u that. hehe)

23 cuppies for a 23rd birthday

hi all.... sorry for leaving this blog un-updated. been a bit busy and boring.

anyway, i received an order thru my dear fren dyg nina. she was ordering for her sis who is in the UK and is ordering for her dear fren here in kuching who will be celebrating her 23rd birthday (huh?... r u following me? kalo lost, baca pelan2..hehehe)
anyway, design was totally up to me. she only gave me a budget and the instruction of making a figurine with LONGGGG EYELASHESSS.... hahhahaha....
new challenge for me who had not been making figurines for quiet sometimes.

besides, ive been itching to use my new toys that i bought during my trip to KL.
this was end end product:

the lady was almost 3 inches tall while sitting. thats quiet huge for me. as i personally like smaller figurines.

anyway, it took me several trial to get the nose and cheeks to get the almost real look. the tudung part was also quiet challenging as the fondant would be brittle is its too thin and wont turn out like tudung if rolled too thick.

overall, am happy with the outcome of this cake. the birthday girl was happy and loved it. :)
