i decided to make the decorations for my aunt's farewell party the next day of baking... .. i had everything planned out. ill leave the office at around 11am and decorate the cuppies...

but guess wad happen, A TSUNAMI OF WORKLOAD crashed over me at the office. i could only leave the office at 1.30pm!!!! only 3and 1/2 hours before the party....

thus, quickly, i made the buttercream icing and swirl simple design. but my buttercream isn't enough to cover all 30 cuppies ... DISASTER!

quick thinking and voila! i decided to decorate with the buttercream itself. i piped simple flower pattern on the cuppies (the kids would not realize the effort i made anyway. they'll be too busy licking of the cream)

hey folks! its been a while since the baking bug bit me... hehhehe

my mum requested me to bake some cupcakes for my aunt's farewell party.

she is going back to London after resting in Kuching for almost 2 years.

anyway, my aunt isnt a fan of eating out or sweet tooth like cakes.

so baking a storm for her would be a total irony.

but, as always, im always looking for a reason to bake so im baking for the nieces and nephews who would be attending this party :D

i decided to bake 2 batches or cupcakes (vanilla and chocolate).

the entire process of measuring, baking and cleaning took a whooping 2 and 1/2 hours... not bad...

its april already? *gasps*

how time flies, and i havent been to a gym or started jogging yet. *sigh*

anyway, im in LUMUT at the moment. staying wif hubby who works as a naval officer. am staying at the officer's quaters here in lumut. not bad. spacious and cool. tapi ada lah boring skit bila takda aktiviti nak buat (oh no! and ive been here only like 4 days...huhuhu)

so, what do i do when hubby goes to work? I WORKED!

luckily i have the 'brains' to bring my work documents along with me (even tho its 2 boxes full and carried all the way from KUCHING)

birthday cake

ill just upload some photos of previously made cuppies for a surprise birthday treat.
the cuppies was ordered by a guy for a girl named fatin.
unfortunately when the guy arrived to collect his cakes, i had to do some alteration on 3 cuppies as there is a miscommunication during order. -_-

but am thankful as all end well and the surprised birthday girl is extremely satisfied *phew*

massage :)

yesterday was hectic + stressful...
cant help it. all of the sudden, everything went haywire at the office.. cant keep the positive thinking facade anymore. im so winded up like an alarm clock. that's the last straw.
at 530 i made an appointment for a body massage at Tjantek Spa Kuching at 6pm.

It was my first time there and second time getting a body massage (the last was before my wedding). and the lovely ladies were ready to accept my last minute appointment. How lovely!

Driving like a mad woman from Pending to Satok i was on time for my appointment. SURPRISED me there. hehhe

The ambiance of the place is soo relaxing. the masseur was soft spoken and the massage was HEAVENLY!

After 1.5 hours of massage i feel the stress just melted away and today i woke up feeling fresh. *content*

cupcakes....cupcakess

Morning all!!! its 9.30am on a Tuesday and I'm in the office with my in-tray full and work table looked like a hurricane had been passing thru... i need to call my working mojo spirit..

therefore, i need to think to take a breather and think of nice stuff like BAKING!

last week i baked two order of choc cupcakes for an engagement hantaran and for a birthday surprise. both order is thru from my dear good friend Madam Norazaliza Othman. The funny thing is we share the same name! (errr...almost )

Above is the cake for Izzah's engagement.. 30 pcs of choc cupcake with fondant deco tops with 2 figurines. Since I've been itching to try making some gumpaste flowers, i made 7 frangipanis. but one got chipped off while arranging them on the cake board.

aint they cute.... aaahhh... happiness...hhehe...

baking bug

Looks like the baking bug is biting my girls (my term for my dear...dear girlfriends)..ahaha

one had gotten a new oven and is baking furiously (jgn oven ya meletup dahlah dek... ahahha)

and today nyna announced that she baking a jar of her yummy choc chip cookies (that me and adek asked for the recipe and LOVED).

Looks like SESCO will be delighted with our electricity consumption this month (due to the oven running and mixer whirring..ahaha)

Going off to Lumut this weekend (and dragging my office) with me.

so, as always, i will bake something for my bro n his in-laws in KL and also for my dear husband and his family who is in KL too (my father repeatedly warned Shida not to kawen wif org melaya...LOL).

Bought some kek lapis from kampung Gersik my my family in law and for Shah's (my bro) in-laws. This one is made from Golden Churn. My oh my... they are HEAVY!

then late last nite baked some choc chip cookies for hubby, shah and also for us to munch at home (and the office). recipe adapted from nyna's choc chip cookies. its soo simple to make. it took me only two and a half hours to bake 2 batches.

*sigh* the smell is heavenly.... but better remember the calories while munch.. munch... away...

The tiny morsel of happiness to keep me slightly happy at the office today (haha...tinggal sebijik jer sebab keje byk sambil munch2...)
